Change Management Process Lead — Workday HCM (Contract)

About the role PowerUp Advisory is running a confidential, engaged search on behalf of a major enterprise client deploying Workday HCM in partnership with a tier-1 systems integrator. We're looking for a Change Management Process Lead to develop the overarching change strategy and governance, design and manage the cross-functional Adoption Network, and integrate communications, training, and readiness plans across the programme. This role exists to bridge technical delivery and organisational readiness — closing open Change Management decisions and mitigating resistance before configuration accelerates. You'll be the senior OCM voice in the room with executive sponsors, HR Business Partners, and the SI delivery team. The work you produce in the first 90 days sets the governance, scope, and stakeholder fabric that the rest of the programme will run on. Why this role matters • The Workday cutover affects every people-process the client's business runs on - absence, leave, time, comp, payroll inputs.• Legacy state is fragmented: union rules, localised absence policies, and decades of HRBP tribal knowledge that has never been documented.• Open OCM decisions are blocking downstream work. Pre-FAS is where decision-readiness gets built.• A weak Adoption Network at this stage shows up later as scope churn, missed deliverables, and adoption risk. Key responsibilities Change strategy & governance: develop the overarching change strategy. Define methodology, governance, RACI, decision rights, escalation paths, and the cadence of steering and working forums. Adoption Network design & management: design and manage the cross-functional Adoption Network. Recruit and secure named commitments from SMEs and HRBPs across both business units. Establish charter, membership, operating rhythm. Integrated planning: integrate communications, training, and readiness plans into a single coherent OCM roadmap. Current state assessment: structured interviews with legacy HRBPs, end-to-end mapping of legacy HR processes (including union-governed processes and localised absence/leave rules), and a defensible baseline of change effort. Executive alignment: brief sponsors, run alignment workshops with HR leadership and business unit heads, and maintain a stakeholder register. Handoff readiness: produce a clean handoff package for the SI delivery team and the downstream Training and Adoption Lead - scope confirmations, stakeholder map, network roster, methodology, known risks. What we're looking for • 7–10 years of Organizational Change Management experience, with at least 3 years leading OCM workstreams on enterprise HR/HCM transformations.• At least one full-lifecycle Workday HCM deployment (or equivalent: Oracle HCM Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors).• Experience operating alongside a tier-1 systems integrator partner.• Track record of baselining current state through structured interviews and process mapping.• Experience with unionised workforces, collective bargaining considerations, and localised HR policy variation.• Executive presence — comfortable presenting to and influencing C-suite and HR leadership.• Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field. Nice to have • Prosci ADKAR, CCMP, or equivalent change certification.• Experience standing up an Adoption / Change Network from scratch.• Multi-business-unit, multi-country, or multi-jurisdiction transformation experience. The details • Engagement: Contract / Consultant• Location: Onsite, five days per week• Start: ASAP• Duration: 12 months with extension potential• Search: Confidential — client name disclosed at first interview How to apply Apply via LinkedIn or send your CV with a short note to billy@powerupadvisory.com covering: the Workday programmes you've led OCM on, the SI partners you've delivered alongside, one example of standing up an Adoption Network, and your earliest available start date.
