The AE is to ensure they are aligned with our vision of making aerospace safe & sustainable through superior products & services, and is engaged in working towards our mission of becoming bigger and better by working on our six key strategic objectives:Defend & Grow existing business by improving our service & fulfilmentValue stream growth & innovationGlobal replication, fleet management & alignmentElevate safety & sustainability culture to aviation requirementsAchieve excellence through a relentless pursuit of marginal gains in everything we doAdopt intent-based leadership principlesAn Application Engineer will utilize all tools within their means to recommend superior products and services.Tasks and Responsibilities:Liaise with external customers and Trelleborg resources to propose solutions based on customer requirementsConfirm the technical feasibility of customer projectsAssurance of alignment to processes; Product Life Cycle Management, Customer Relationship Management, Project Management Process, Design process and otherWork within agreed and published Consensus of DesignsSupport sales in seeking new customer opportunitiesPrepare technical items for customer proposal; drawings, presentations, and inspection diagrams or sketchesComplete data analysis packages (dimensional, material, regulatory) on components and compile into technical reportInterpret technical data including drawing definition, models, FEA or testing results and report to customerProvide technical assistance to customers and sales personnelPrepare and present aerospace product, material and service training to customersSupport sales in the execution of strategic and tactical plans to drive revenueProvide technical support for troubleshooting, providing analysis to resolve field performance problemsMaintain technical knowledge of both internal and external products, materials and servicesAssist in commercial and marketing activities are requested by manager; trade shows, symposiums, forums, etcSupport quality and manufacturing in root cause and corrective action effortsEducation and Experience:Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent3 years within application or product design engineer roles preferredMinimum 1 year within application or product design engineer roleProficiency in solid modeling; Unigraphics NX10 or higher, CATIA (moderate level)Knowledge of standard component measurement methodsKnowledge in Finite Element Analysis tools and prediction preferred (moderate level)Proficiency in Teamcenter or similar product life cycle management toolsKnowledge of aerospace polymer product applications preferred; hydraulics & actuation, airframe & structures, engine, interiorsKnowledge of polymer materials characteristics preferredKnowledge of polymer manufacturing processes preferredProficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint requiredProficiency in utilization of AI into daily workCompetencies:Self-motivatedStrong technical aptitude and learning abilityProficient oral/written communication skillsProblem solvingExcellent organization skillsAbility to analyse, interpret and communicate technical conceptsFlexibility in workload and completion of open ended or ambiguous tasksTravel:30 - 40% travel per yearApplication:Last Application Date 3/16/2026As an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran or disability status.This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
