Mechanics play a crucial role in our team; they are responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining construction equipment, and light, medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Your expertise minimizes downtime, enhances productivity, and contributes to the overall safety and efficiency of our projects. Duties include:Diagnose and repair fleet equipment, such as Medium and Heavy-Duty trucks, horizontal directional drills, trailers, backhoes, excavators and other equipmentConduct inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety, productivity, and equipment lifespanTest drive vehicles after repairs to ensure mechanical soundnessHandle and use a variety of tools and small equipment (forklifts, drill press, bandsaw, cranes, etc.)File appropriate documentation on all repairs made through electronic repair order system on tabletCommunicate with the Fleet Coordinator and Operations for updates on repairs.Ensure the use of personal safety equipment (e.g., safety glasses, face shields, gloves, hard hats)Perform daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) worksheets to identify and mitigate any hazards associated with daily work and turn in weeklyHave a "Safety First" mindset prioritizing safe work dailyPrimarily working out of a Service Truck as a Field Mechanic in the yards, and on job sites as requiredMaintain a clean work area and secure tools and equipment at the end of each shiftPerform other duties assignedKEY QUALIFICATIONS:5+ years HDR experience preferredValid driver's license required; CDL preferredAbility to acquire and maintain a DOT medical cardKnowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct repairsAbility to operate diagnostic tools and service truck equipmentFamiliar with heavy duty repair, gas and diesel engines and hydraulicsASE and/or manufacturer certifications preferredWork scheduled overtime as neededExcellent communication skillsTeam-oriented and reliableThe physical activity for this role includes:Repetitious crouching, lifting, crawling as well as walking and standing for long periodsMove about, in, and around construction vehicles and equipmentManual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balancePull, lift, and carry heavy objectsHandle and use a variety of tools and small equipment (e.g., forklift, drill press, bandsaw, crane, welding torch)Correctly wear PPE equipment i.e., safety glasses, face shields, gloves, and hard hats* Must supply own tools apart from specialty tooling approved by Fleet Coordinator, or Manager* Pass a standard background check and drug screeningThis role is accepting applications until filledThis position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
