PQ's products are used in a wide variety of industrial processes and many customer products, from decorative paints to green cement, from clean drinking water to green tires and from toothpaste to biofuels and beer.Job DescriptionPromotes and Demonstrates the Chester Operating Philosophy of Safety/Health (including PQP), Environmental/Regulatory Compliance, Customer/Quality Commitment and Productivity, Cost Control and Asset Management within and environment of Continuous Improvement and Respect/Caring for all Personnel.Will direct activities in the plant in the absence of the plant or production manager in terms of schedules, planning, work issuance, etc. Manages small/medium plant capital projects (<$700k), capital budgets, and fixed cost Repair and Maintenance budgetsActively supports site JHSC (Joint, Health and Safety Committee) through participation, support and promotion.Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.Ensures compliance with company policies.Communicates all issues, problems or concerns of the plant to production managers and/or plant managers of the site.Encourages and implements a teamwork environment.Will lead by example, wearing all required PPE and following all procedures and accepted practicesInteracts with Plant Manager on plant maintenance scheduling and activities.Manages contractors working on site.Provides diagnostic and troubleshooting support for maintenance and operations.Interacts with all plant personnel to help develop and execute continuous improvement ideas and projects through the 7 step process.Aligns Plant Maintenance system with Corporate RBAM (Reliability Based Asset Management System) goals and objectives.Spends time on the shop floor with maintenance and operations personnel during troubleshooting, improvement activities, and supervisionMonitors and maintains integrity of assets and protective systemsPerforms special projects or other duties as directed.Increases productivity of the maintenance department with reduction in turnover timeDrives accountability where needed to improve behaviors QualificationsMinimum Requirement: Technical (STEM) degree or trade school certificationPreferred education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field7+ years of experience in a chemical/manufacturing environmentExperience with project and maintenance budgetingUnion experience is preferredExperience includes development of PFD's, P&ID's, equipment layouts, and equipment listsShould have familiarity with a variety of equipment in the processing industry, including pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, filtration, flow measurement, conveyors, mills, and bulk solid/powder material transfer equipment.Demonstrated leadership skills.Strong organizational skillsMust be knowledgeable in basic accounting & budgeting fundamentals.Basic working knowledge of chemical process unit operations.Computer skills: Word, Project, PowerPointProficiency in Microsoft ExcelMechanical aptitudeAbility to develop strong working relationships with the plant personnel and contractorsCapacity to organize projectsFamiliarity with OSHA regulations desirable.Additional InformationEHS ResponsibilitiesCommunicates, promotes and personally demonstrates Safety/Health (including PQP Principles) as #1 priorityParticipation in risk assessment audits as applicableUnderstand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and proceduresCompletes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely mannerPQ is an equal opportunity employer.
