Job Posting: Occupational Therapist (OT)Location: Shawboro Elementary School & Central Elementary SchoolPosition Type: Full-Time (School-Based)Start Date: ImmediateReports To: Exceptional Children (EC) Director / Student Services CoordinatorJob SummaryCurrituck County Schools is seeking a qualified and student-focused Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services for students at Shawboro Elementary School and Central Elementary School. The Occupational Therapist will support students in developing skills necessary for participation and success in the educational environment, in alignment with each student's IEP and educational goals.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Occupational Therapist will:Provide occupational therapy evaluations, screenings, and assessments as neededDevelop and implement OT services aligned to student IEPsProvide direct and consultative OT services in school settingsCollaborate with EC teachers, general education staff, administrators, and familiesParticipate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoringMaintain required documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid documentation (if applicable)Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and classroom strategies to support student accessProvide staff consultation and training as appropriateFollow district, state, and federal compliance requirements for special education servicesTravel between Shawboro Elementary and Central Elementary as assigned QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited programCurrent NC Occupational Therapy License (or eligible to obtain)NBCOT certification (preferred/required based on district standards)Experience working with children in a school setting preferredKnowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school-based therapy best practicesStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Work ConditionsSchool-based environment serving elementary studentsMay include lifting, positioning, and assisting students as neededRequires travel between assigned school sites BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and education.Health and retirement benefits.Opportunities for professional growth and development.
