Job Purpose: The Behavioral Support Aide will participate and engage 1:1 with a learner to whom they assigned. Qualifications/Certificates: High School Diploma Valid Driver's License Experience working with children preferred Experience working with learners with autism or special needs preferred Experience providing physical support to learners preferred Reports to: Principal Job Requirements/Skills/Knowledge: Be of good moral characterAbility to successfully complete the Alpine Learning Group Education Program training programGood communication skillsProficient with educational technology (e.g., tablets, computers)Ability to work with diverse individuals and needsMaintain confidentialityPunctual Clearances: Compliance with Federal, State, NJDOE Personnel Code requirements, including, but not limited to, Mantoux TB test, Criminal History, Motor Vehicle Review, Citizenship Status Working Environment/Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, occasional running, occasional lifting (up to 75lbs), good fine and gross motor coordination when guiding students, ability to supervise play and exercise routines, vision and hearing and receptive and expressive language abilities, as suited to instructional and behavioral needs of one's students. Responsibilities: Assisting with managing problem behaviorMaterial preparationAssisting with self-care routines (e.g., using the restroom, changing after gym)Engaging with learners while they are accessing reinforcers (e.g., playing basketball)Assisting with community outings (e.g., ordering food at fast food restaurants)Assisting at supported internship placementsCompletes learning / maintenance activities as assignedParticipates in training and professional development, as deemed required for this position, including, but not limited to CPI and August training Other activities as assigned
