Now Hiring: Point of Care Testing Coordinator (Contract, 13 Weeks, Potential to Hire)Location: Houston, TX | Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – FridayAbout the Role: A leading children’s hospital is seeking a Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator to oversee and improve the hospital’s POCT program. This role is responsible for evaluating testing methodologies, implementing new processes, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring high-quality patient care through accurate laboratory testing practices.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the POCT program and recommend improvements.Coordinate implementation of testing methodologies and instrumentation.Develop and validate procedures for new or modified testing processes.Perform data management tasks, including system checks, reviewing flags, investigating errors, and maintaining operator lists.Collaborate with leadership and administrative staff to develop and implement policies for POCT.Review POCT manuals annually and standardize test procedures across departments.Communicate clearly with staff to ensure quality patient care and smooth interdepartmental operations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science.At least 1 year of laboratory experience.Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS, ASCP) or Medical Technologist (MT, ASCP).Prior POCT experience preferred but not required.Opportunity:This is a 13-week contract position with potential for permanent hire.
