Special Education (Designed Instruction) Paraeducator - Temporary PositionEast Valley School District2026 - EVSD #361Date Posted: February 18, 2026 Closing Date: Open until filledHours/Day: 6.50 Days/Year: 191Schedule Information: Monday - Friday, 8:45 am - 3:45 pmhours may vary depending on district needsEstimated Start Date:Immediately after hirestart date is contingent upon clearance of background screeningthrough the FBI and Washington State Patrol.End Date (if temporary): This is a temporary position through June 19, 2026.Additional Information: [none]Salary:$20.51 - $23.89 dependent on placementThe salary listed above includes $1.50 per hour to assist with student personal needs (including but not limited to: toileting, diaper changing, bathing, catheterization, feeding).Benefits: Click Here to view Employee Benefit InformationReports to: Principal and Program Director or designeeJob Descriptions:Click Here to view the Special Education Paraeducator Job DescriptionSalary Schedule:Click Here to view the 2025-2026 Salary Schedule for ParaeducatorsDistrict Website: http://www.evsd.orgJob Summary:This position will be responsible for completion of the following items in addition to those listed in the Job Description (see above).All paraeducators must have completed the ETS Praxis, or obtained an AA Degree, or have earned 72 quarter/48 semester credits, or have completed a registered apprenticeship program prior to applying for a paraeducator position in the East Valley School District (documentation required at time of application).High School Diploma or Equivalent.Minimum of 18 years of age.Assist the special education teacher in the implementation, organization and preparation of the classroom program and materials.Provide instruction to students with special needs as assigned and supervised by the special education teacher.Assist the special education teacher with record keeping tasks as directed.Assist the special education teacher in maintaining the safety and well-being of the students.Work daily with students in accordance with scheduled times.Facilitate and complete learning experiences designated by the teacher.Assist and support building staff in the implementation of classroom intervention.Assist in maintaining the safety and well-being of all students.Will utilize district software programs, including; Skyward, Word, Excel and SMI.Maintain appropriate student records and other records as directed.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Required to have a current First Aid/CPR Card.Must be able to provide proof of immunization if born on or after 1/1/1957.
