Accountant
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the company, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and industry regulations. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of both general accounting practices and the specific needs of a jewelry manufacturing environment, including inventory costing, precious metals valuation, and production-related expenses.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate general ledger entries, financial statements, and supporting schedules.Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and collections.Track, analyze, and report on raw material costs (precious metals, gemstones, components) and finished goods inventory.Monitor and reconcile work-in-progress (WIP) and production costs.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Support year-end processes and coordinate with external accounting firm.Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax, excise tax, and other applicable filings.Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing; jewelry or luxury goods industry experience a plus.Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems).Advanced Excel skills; strong analytical and quantitative skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
