Bar Service CounterThe Bar Service's (Counter) role is to provide "Guest First" service at all times, making the Guest the heart and passion of all they do. This includes friendly and timely interaction with Guests and Team Members, suggestive selling, answering questions, taking and delivering the Guests' Beverage order, and ensuring each Guest is made to feel welcome at all times.Key Performance Elements/Essential FunctionsResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:To know and follow posted schedule and strict adherence to posted clock in/out timeTimely and courteous service to Willie's guests at the counter as well as throughout the restaurantThorough knowledge of menu items, wines, beers, and cocktailsAdherence to company, state, and county sanitation standardsMaintains a clean and organized workstationMaintains friendly, helpful, positive attitudeKnows and follows Willie's operating policiesAdheres to Willie's steps of serviceWelcomes and greets Guests following established service guidelinesReady and willing to assist fellow Team Members in meeting Guest needsAnswers questions and makes recommendations about our food, beverages, features, and other restaurant functions and servicesClearly understands correct process in serving Guests with allergensTakes food and beverage orders from Guests, repeating order for Guest confirmationFollows alcohol awareness procedures to prevent Guest intoxication; notifies Manager on Duty with any questions surrounding alcohol service to GuestsDelivers both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages to GuestsAssists other bartenders & servers in taking care of Guests, providing outstanding serviceThanking guests for their visit and invites them to returnAssists other servers, server assistants and bartenders in their tasks when necessaryResponsible for all side work and cleaning duties outlined in the restaurantAttends all company meetings, training seminars as requiredPerforms side work at the start, throughout, and end of each shift as requiredPerforms all duties and responsibilities according to the Company's written Employee Handbook, including Performance Expectations and Dress-Code/Grooming GuidelinesKeeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all Guest service issues. Takes prompt corrective action as appropriateAdherence to company dress-code and grooming policiesTreats all Guests, Team Members, and Managers with the greatest degree of respect and courtesyMaintains a friendly and cooperative attitude while at workPortrays a favorable image of Willie's Grill and Icehouse at all timesPerforms related tasks as assigned by Restaurant ManagementQualificationsEducation/Training/Work Experience6 mos. to 2 years related experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredAlcohol Certification requiredFood Handler's Certificate as requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to see, hear, read, and write in EnglishBasic math and verbal communication skills requiredAbility to comprehend and follow written and verbal directionMust be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, other employees and managersPossess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale systemAbility to manage his or her own workflow and resolve questions and problems with supervisorPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and/or walk throughout the entire shift and work in a restaurant environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWhile performing the duties, this position is regularly required to stand and walk; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; uses hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate restaurant equipment; reach with hands and arms; bend, kneel, crouch and climb
