Cannabis Extraction Technician Lead

Position SummaryThe Cannabis Extraction Technician Lead is responsible for supporting and executing cannabis extraction and processing operations within a licensed extraction facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, safety awareness, equipment handling skills, and a solid understanding of cannabis extraction principles and product quality standards. Operating within Oregon’s regulatory framework, the Extraction Technician Lead ensures consistent, high-quality product output while maintaining strict compliance with OLCC regulations and internal SOPs.Key ResponsibilitiesExtraction and Processing OperationsOperate extraction and processing equipment in accordance with SOPs, which may include solventless and or other approved extraction methods depending on site operationsMonitor and adjust process parameters to optimize yield, consistency, and qualityPrepare, stage, and handle raw materials and in-process products for extraction and post-processingSupport multiple stages of production as needed, including preparation, extraction, post-processing, and packaging handoffQuality ControlInspect intermediate and finished products for quality, consistency, and cleanlinessAccurately collect, label, and track materials with correct batch informationIdentify and report abnormalities such as color variation, odor issues, contamination, or yield discrepanciesCompliance and DocumentationRecord batch data including input and output weights, process parameters, and batch IDs in METRC and or internal tracking systemsEnsure all activities comply with OLCC regulations, safety requirements, sanitation standards, and security protocolsMaintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure proper storage of all materials and productsEquipment MaintenanceClean and sanitize extraction and processing equipment and work areas dailyPerform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions or safety concerns to Maintenance or LeadershipAssist with calibration and general upkeep of equipment, gauges, and toolsTeam Leadership and CollaborationProvide day to day guidance and support to extraction techniciansCoordinate with post-processing, packaging, and inventory teams to maintain production flowAssist with R and D initiatives, process improvements, and new product development as assignedQualificationsRequiredMust be 21 plus and able to obtain and maintain an active OLCC Marijuana Worker PermitOne plus year of experience in cannabis processing, extraction, or manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of cannabis extraction fundamentals and production workflowsAbility to lift 40 plus pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in variable temperature environmentsPreferredExperience in a licensed cannabis extraction facilityFamiliarity with METRC or other seed to sale tracking systemsExperience with post-processing techniques and production scalingPrior leadership or lead level experience in a production environmentWorking ConditionsExposure to loud machinery, heat, cold, and repetitive manual tasksDaily handling of cannabis plant material and finished productsPPE required, including gloves, protective eyewear, hairnets, and other site specific equipmentSchedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on production needsCompensation and BenefitsAccess to health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and employee discounts
