Come join our team!The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical system design, project estimation, bidding, arc flash studies, data collection, one-line diagram development, and occasional hands-on electrical work for Rumpke owned facilities, equipment, and projects across residential, commercial, and industrial applications.Responsibilities of Position:Perform electrical designs, load calculations, and system analyses using EasyPower softwareConduct arc flash hazard analyses, generate reports, and recommend mitigation measures in compliance with NFPA 70E, 70B and IEEE standardsConduct site visits to collect field data, verify existing conditions, and develop accurate one-line diagrams and riser diagramsPrepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bids using electrical bidding/estimating softwareTravel to project sites to assess scope, meet with customers or contractors, and submit bids on new opportunitiesPerform small electrical fill in work, troubleshooting, and minor installations as needed to support ongoing operationsReview contractor submittals and coordinate with Electrical Department Manager on larger projectsEnsure all designs, estimates, and installations comply with National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, and company standardsMaintain accurate project documentation, time sheets, and cost tracking recordsProfessional interaction with internal teams, external customers, and contractorsMaintain open communication with the Electrical Department ManagerFollow all company policiesPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:This position will not manage employeesSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projectsCapable of using electrical testing equipment and standard toolsAbility to work at heights and in various environments with appropriate safety equipmentProficiency with EasyPower software for system modeling, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studiesStrong ability to collect field data and create code compliant one line diagrams using AutoCAD, EasyPower or similar toolsThorough knowledge of National Electrical Codes, NFPA 70E, 70B and OSHA regulationsExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:5 years of experience in electrical engineering and project estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial environmentsExperience in use of EasyPower software and arc flash hazard analysis and labelingMotor control and VFD experience is a plusPrevious supervisory or lead role on electrical projects is a plus. Experience in waste/recycling or heavy industrial facilities is a plusExperience using electrical bidding/estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, Electrical Bid Manger, or similar platformPreferred Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) on track for PE or equivalent experiencePhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbsFrequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbsOccasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbsRarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbsFrequently working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditionsFrequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matterFrequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawlingFrequently climbing and/or balancingFrequently sitting/standing/walkingAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:Exposure to residential and commercial wasteAbility to travel between offices, as requiredAbility to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as neededMust be available for 24-hour emergency callsLegally eligible to work in the United StatesValid driver's license (if applicable)Must successfully complete pre-employment testingMust be able to read and speak the English languageThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
