Java Backend Developer

Job Title: Java Backend DeveloperLocation: Austin-TX (Remote)Type: ContractSenior/Mid-level - Java Core Backend DeveloperTech Team is looking for a mid-level to Senior Core Java Backend Developers to build and enhance high-performance, scalable backend systems supporting Wealth & Advice Solutions Tech platforms. These platforms enable the firms Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) business, serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investors.Required Qualifications7+ years of hands-on backend development experience using Core Java (Java 8 or above)Strong experience with Spring Framework, specifically:Spring Batch andSpring BootProven experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databasesSolid understanding of SQL, data modelling, and batch-oriented data processingExperience building and supporting RESTful servicesStrong grasp of object-oriented design principles, multithreading, and performance optimizationExperience working in Agile / Scrum delivery modelsProactively detect, troubleshoot, and remediate issues affecting production applications.Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to affected parties during the investigation and resolution of any individual or system-wide outage.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including team interaction and communication skills including ability to work in cross-functional teamsExperience with messaging and streaming platforms:Apache KafkaRabbitMQOther MQ / event-driven systemsExperience with file-based integration patterns, including:SFTPSecure file sharing servicesFamiliarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M or equivalent)Understanding cloud-native enterprise applications deployed in PCF, AWS, GCP or Azure.Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools - GitHub/Git Actions.Prior experience in Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Asset Management domains - Preferred
