Job Title: Superintendent Reports to: Project Manager | Vice President

Position summary: Directs the field construction activities and is responsible for coordinating the efforts of all direct-hire job personnel and subcontractors.

Position responsibilities:
Maintains project schedule; plans, monitors and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedules.
Manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operation; creates daily job reports and submits weekly
Carries and maintains tools necessary to perform the work of an experienced carpenter
Provides input to cost and schedule forecasts; verifies work progress
Participates in the negotiation of claims and changes
Understands all subcontractors’ scopes; ensures subcontractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirements. Reports deficient work to subcontractors and project manager
Verifies that products and workmanship used meet or exceed project specifications
Maintains open communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and project schedule
Liaises with owner’s representatives to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
Assists in resolving field construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.)
Responsible for compliance with all OSHA regulations, monitors craft and subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; performs weekly safety inspections and tool box talks; documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented
Assists in performing incident and/or accident investigations and follow-up
Provides accurate, complete and timely reporting of time worked for weekly payroll
Provides coded delivery tickets, receipts and all other paperwork to Office on at least a weekly basis
Assists the Project Manager with review (% complete) of monthly pay requests submitted by subcontractors
Assists the Project Manager with Change Order review
Prepares for and attends project meetings
Schedules, conducts and documents subcontractor weekly progress meetings, as needed
Trains job personnel
Performs project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner
Maintains and updates “as-built” drawings
Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and goals
Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
Use of Procore for reporting and job coordination
Essential skills and experience:
Four year construction/engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience
Five years’ supervisory experience using similar construction methods, equipment and tools
Ability to fully read and interpret construction documents, plans and blueprints and to have a complete understanding pf the plans & specifications & the ability to convey details to field personnel & subcontractors.
Effective communication skills
Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups
Strong organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
OSHA 30 hour safety training, basic 1st aid/CPR training
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
