Washington Small Pack/FedEx - Day Shift

Small PackPacks customer orders using various means and methods, such as palletizing and shrink wrapping, small box packing, stuffing and closing, ensuring labeling is accurately applied per standards.Prepares and packs customer orders for shipment.Checks and verifies orders for accuracy.Operates packing equipment such as shrink-wrap, box knives and tape guns.Wraps and/or boxes items securely.Labels packages appropriately.All other duties as requested.May be assigned to various other areas or departments when needed to meet company goals.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Basic computer experience preferred.Must be able to communicate effectively.Possesses the ability to read and interpret documents such as orders and instructions.Ability to write and understand reports and correspondence.Good knowledge of basic math; ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as quantities and combined box counts.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Capable of dealing with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to adapt and change as business needs change daily.Ability to work overtime as needed.Comfortable standing for long periods of time; majority of the shift.General distribution center working conditions.Climate controlled environmentRegularly required to stand, walk, bend and lift for full shift.Regularly required to lift/move/push or pull weight of up to 50 lbs. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms requiring dexterity and handling or working with packages or equipment.Occasionally required to use a step ladder.Occasionally required to climb stairs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.Employee will be required to hear warning horns, bells, alarms, and oral instructions for safety purposes.Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, shipping orders, packing specifications, labels, reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to apply concepts of basic math.Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
