Title: Sales Engineer
Salary: 140k-$160k/yr (Base)
Location: 100% REMOTE
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to combine technical expertise in electrical and industrial power systems with strong customer-facing skills to drive sales and deliver engineered solutions. This role partners with customers, sales teams, and engineering to qualify opportunities, develop proposals, and ensure successful implementation of power and control systems that meet performance, safety, and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for sales opportunities: qualify customer needs, recommend solutions, and prepare technical proposals and cost estimates.
Conduct customer-facing activities including discovery meetings, product demonstrations, site visits, and commissioning support.
Collaborate with internal engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to develop custom solutions and clarify scope, specifications, and deliverables.
Create and present technical documentation, drawings, and BOMs; review and interpret electrical schematics and system designs.
Support the sales process by responding to RFPs/RFIs, preparing quotations, and participating in negotiations to close deals.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and proposals in the CRM system; provide regular sales forecasts and status reports.
Provide training and technical guidance to customers, distributors, and internal teams; troubleshoot issues and coordinate post-sale support.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites to develop relationships and generate leads.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in sales engineering or application engineering, preferably with a focus on industrial power, power distribution, or motor control systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, protective devices, transformers, drives, and related industrial equipment.
Proven customer-facing experience with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Experience preparing technical proposals, interpreting electrical schematics, and producing BOMs and technical documentation.
Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office, and basic CAD or electrical drawing tools.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and trade shows (up to 50% as required) and possess a valid drivers license.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
