Electrical Engineer – Electromechanical systems, Design, Test & Launch Leads the design, development, testing, optimization, and launch of electrical control systems for electromechanical systems and components used in suspended access and lifting equipment. This role owns electrical control system, functional safety, product performance, regulatory compliance, manufacturability, market support, and margin improvement across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Lead electrical control systems design, development, test, and launch of electromechanical systems, assemblies, and subcomponents
Translate customer, regulatory, and internal requirements into robust, UL‑compliant, manufacturable electrical control designs
Define electrical control systems including microcontrollers, motor control, brake control, safety monitoring, and sensor integration
Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and interface documentation
Specify, validate, and integrate motors, drives, brakes, sensors, limit switches, safety relays, and protective devices
Perform electrical control system analysis including power, thermal, fault, and safety‑related evaluations
Own electrical and embedded aspects of new product introduction (NPI) activities including design reviews, prototyping, testing, and launch readiness
Optimize existing products using customer feedback, field data, warranty trends, and manufacturing input
Drive design improvements to enhance reliability, safety, usability, and customer experience
Identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities through architecture optimization, component selection, and design simplification to maximize product margins
Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, firmware, and suppliers to improve manufacturability and reduce lifecycle cost
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing, assembly, software, and field issues
Ensure compliance with applicable North American electrical, safety, and lifting codes and regulations
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, specifications, test reports, and manuals
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in electrical and embedded control system design and testing, preferably with electromechanical systems, lifting, or safety‑critical equipment
Demonstrated experience developing UL‑certified electrical systems for hoists, lifts, cranes, or similar machinery
Strong understanding of electrical control systems, motor control, power electronics, and safety‑related control architectures
Experience integrating embedded firmware with electrical hardware and mechanical systems
Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, or similar)
Solid understanding of North American electrical codes, grounding, insulation, EMC, and fault protection for industrial systems
Experience with functional safety, risk assessment, and FMEA for safety‑critical equipment
Proven ability to lead product launches and cross‑functional engineering initiatives
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
