Duffy's ServerPosition: Duffy's Server Reports To: General Manager Job Summary: Responsible for following the steps of excellent service to provide a memorable experience for our guests. Major areas of responsibility include escorting guests to their tables when needed, reviewing the MVP program with all guests, strong MVP program knowledge, reviewing menus to guests and answering questions about menu items, upselling to improve their dining experience and raise check average, explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, writing guests food orders on order pads and repeating the order back to the guest, inputting guests order accurately into POS system, checking with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and taking action to correct any problems, checking guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages, collecting payments from guests, removing dishes and glasses from tables and taking them to kitchen for cleaning throughout guests visit and after they leave, cleaning and resetting tables after guests have finished dining, assisting host or hostess by answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests, performing cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom, rolling silverware, setting up food stations, or setting up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties, stocking service areas with supplies such as coffee, tea, beverages, napkins, side plates, etc., filling salt, pepper shakers and wiping down table tents throughout the shift, asking the guests to leave a review, and maintaining a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers. Essential functions include standing for long periods of time, using both hands and all fingers to handle, control, grasp, move, assemble or feel objects, tools, or controls, repeating the same movements, walking or standing for long periods of time, seeing details of objects that are less than a few feet away, seeing details of objects that are more than a few feet away, seeing differences between colors, shades, and brightness, understanding the speech of another person, speaking clearly so listeners can understand, using stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired, keeping your hand and arm steady while moving, moving two or more limbs together, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching out their body, being physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath, focusing on one source of sound and ignoring others, hearing sounds and recognizing the difference between them, using muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects, using muscles for extended periods without getting tired, determining the distance between objects, coordinating movement of several parts of the body, reacting quickly using hands, fingers, or feet, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing quickly and correctly, multitasking different work activities and shifting attention from one task to another, heavy lifting up to 40 lbs., and available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
