Pharmacy Coordinator
POSITION FUNCTIONThe Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for supporting the efficient and accurate conduct of clinical trials under the direction of Research Management. The Pharmacy Coordinator will support the clinical team and demonstrate exemplary patient care. The Pharmacy Coordinator will maintain accurate and detailed records of the Investigational Product while supporting blinded and unblinded clinical studies.Essential FunctionsPrepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist or physicianMaintain and inspect expiration dates for all IP, medications and supplies needed for pharmacy useMaintain drug accountability logs for all medications including oral, injectable medication, etc.Ensure drug accountability logs are accurate and up-to-date by the end of the business day Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugs as outlined and required by protocol Maintain temperature logs for ambient rooms, refrigerators, and freezersEstablish and maintain patient drug administration records for Sponsors, CROs, Regulatory Agencies, or other industry representativesFollow protocol-established procedures for each clinical trial such as labeling vials and/or bottles with appropriate subject informationRenew DEA license and Pharmacy license as requiredEstablish good working relationships with Sponsors, CROs, and other industry representativesEnsure availability of documents, records, used and unused drug for all monitoring visits whether blinded or unblindedEnsure accurate completion of Case Report Forms (CRFs) and Electronic Data Capture for clinical trials specific sitesFollow procedures outlined by the Sponsor, CRO or other industry representative for drug destruction for the close-out of the clinical trialTrain employees and model continuous improvement practicesOther duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceMinimum: Canada: College/University degreeUS: HS/GED1-year hospital or pharmacy experiencePreferredCanada/US: Certification or Technical Diploma in Pharmacy2 or more years of hospital or pharmacy experienceCore Competencies/SkillsPrerequisite (Essential):Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) Attention to detail Ability to manage time efficiently Self-directed Teamwork & Collaboration Proficient level of clinical, interpretive and analytical skills with organizational skills for project planningFlexible & AdaptableStrong knowledge of ICH GCP, FDA & HC Division 5 guidelinesFoundationConflict resolutionReceptive to feedback Empowering & Developing others Empathy SkillsPlanning and organizing skills Excellent problem-solving skillsAchievement oriented Analytical ability InitiativeDecision making LeadershipForward thinkingInnovative Creative Strategic thinking Self confidenceStrong interpersonal skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical demands include but not limited to prolonged sitting, light lifting, standing, reaching, walking, and bending.
