APP, ICU Nights

Job RequirementsHealth First is looking for an experienced NP or PA to join our night team in the ICU at Holmes Regional. You'll be a true clinical partner to our Nocturnal Intensivists, managing high-acuity patients and handling the full scope of critical care!What the night looks like:You'll be the frontline for the unit working collaboratively with the Intensivist. This includes managing clinical status changes, responding to in-house emergencies, and handling ICU admissions. You'll also be responsible for managing downgrades to ensure the unit flows efficiently. Since this is a high-acuity setting, you should be comfortable performing or learning critical care procedures as they come up.What we're looking for:You need to be a Florida-licensed (or eligible) APP.Ideally, you've spent time in an ICU or high-acuity environment. We need someone who is comfortable making decisions when things get busy.National certification (ACNP or PA-C), plus BLS/ACLS.You're someone who likes the autonomy of night shifts but knows how to communicate effectively with the attending and the nursing staff.The Essentials:Competitive salary and full benefits.CME allowance and malpractice coverage.Solid administrative supportWork ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Minimum of Master Degree in the Science of NursingCurrent APRN license or endorsement permitCompletion of APRN protocols within first 90 days of employment, and maintain bi-annual renewal updatesMust hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.Participation in a minimum of one professional conference and completion of a minimum of 15 continuing education units per year.Demonstrates strength in leadership, multitasking, autonomy, entrepreneurial and public relation skills.Must be able to pass colorblind testing to perform POC test requiring color change.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 times daily.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds 6 times daily.Must be able to pass colorblind test in order to perform those point-of-care tests requiring color change.MENTAL DEMANDS:Ability to work in stressful, public contact environment with patients and familiesof various ages, cultures and socio-economic statuses.Must be extremely flexible and able to work at variable hours and locations.Must be able to recognize own limits and consult a physician regarding patient care issues.Oversees clinical involvement of support associates and volunteers during dailyclinic operations.Participates in clinical experience of students.Must be courteous and helpful, treating all people with dignity and respect.Must be able to concentrate on multiple priority activities.Must be able to respond efficiently to emergency situations.BenefitsABOUT HEALTH FIRSTAt Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
