Lead Angular Developer
Overview:
Lead frontend engineer driving tablet-first applications for autonomous systems at Cat Digital. You shape scalable frontend architecture, delivering high-performance UIs across real-time data and AI outputs. You collaborate with product, UX, backend, and AI teams to deliver integrated, field-ready solutions. This role blends web tech with industrial autonomy and digital twin visualization, offering impact at scale. You will mentor engineers and raise engineering standards to accelerate delivery. Responsibilities:
- Define frontend architecture across teams, including UI frameworks, state management, and application structure
- Design and deliver tablet-first apps using Angular and Ionic/Capacitor with mobile/console support
- Build interactive, real-time UIs to visualize and control autonomous systems using live data and AI outputs
- Drive performance optimization for low-latency experiences on tablets and mobile
- Establish reusable components, standards, and best practices for scalability
- Lead technical design reviews, guide implementation, and mentor engineers across teams
- Collaborate with product, UX, backend, and AI/robotics teams for integrated solutions
- Ensure quality via automated testing, CI/CD, and observability
- Advance AI-assisted delivery using Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI coding assistants with governance for AI-generated code
Key requirements:
- Strong frontend architecture expertise
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Proficiency in Angular, RxJS, and state management (NgRx or similar)
- JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend design patterns
- Hands-on experience with hybrid mobile apps using Ionic and Capacitor
- Experience integrating real-time data systems (WebSockets, event-driven)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and backend systems (Node.js)
- Experience leveraging AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) in production
- Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or similar spec-first methodologies
