Job SummaryGeneral Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join out Information Technology team in Poway, CA.Under general supervision with instructions on routine assignments and detailed instructions on new assignments:Performs routine installations, upgrades, and backups of software and hardware applications.Resolves routine software and hardware failures and notifies supervisor of more complex issues.May identify network issues that relate to personal computers.Provides general information, and follows procedures on resolving routine request from all levels of employees.Prepares and maintains various electronic and hard copy reports and logs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on a variety of personal computers and peripheral devices.Sets up and tests personal computer systems, peripherals, and software, including operating systems.Provides general hardware and software support for users, provides user training, and guides users having difficulty with personal computers, peripherals, or software.Performs routine diagnosis on failed equipment and software and coordinates repairs.Identifies and reports network issues.Prepares and maintains electronic and hard reports and logs, including equipment inventory.May work the help desk and provide telephone support or arrange for service for trouble calls.May use a vehicle to pick up or deliver hardware and software.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices Additional Other duties as assigned or required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.Job QualificationsTypically requires an Associate's degree with an emphasis in information technology, or a related discipline, along with one or more years of progressive personal computer technical experience in an information technology department.Typically requires an Associate's degree with an emphasis in information technology, or a related discipline, along with one or more years of progressive personal computer technical experience in an information technology department.Must be customer focused and demonstrate the ability to:Resolve moderately complex technical situationsCommunicate and interface effectively with all levels of personnelExplain moderately complex technical information to customers and or leadership familiarity with remote desktop tools and support platforms.Familiarity with various types of technologies: VPN, MFA, PKI, Mobile based authentication, M365, Active Directory role based access, and various Window Operating systems imaging & management practicesFamiliarity with ITSM frameworkAbility to manage multiple tasks at multiple locations and prioritize effectivelyExcellent written and oral communication and soft skillsMust have a valid class C driver's license and able to work extended hours as required.Ability to travel 25% as neededAbility to obtain Secret security clearanceU.S. Citizenship is requiredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyCan't be Remote must be in San DiegoPrefered Qualifications:A+, MCSA, Security+MAC OS(ACSP), RHEL, or CentOS related certificationsM365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator CertificationsGoogle IT Support Professional Certificate ITIL v4 CertificationsServiceNowJob Type: Full-Time HourlySalary range: 48,160 - 71,598
