At NMG Aerospace our Quality Inspectors 2 is responsible for final inspection and in-process audits of parts/assemblies/processes to meet customer specifications, purchase order, and quality requirements. Determine part conformity, compliance, and ensure that it is suitable for use by our customer.**Shift is Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm and Friday 6:00 am to 10:00 am ** Job SummaryResponsible for final inspection and in-process audits of parts/assemblies/processes to meet customer specifications, purchase order, and quality requirements. Determine part conformity, compliance, and ensure that it is suitable for use by our customer.Essential Job FunctionsInspect/audit product using all variable or attribute measuring equipment and record results to ensure conformance with part and customer requirements.Be able to read and understand aerospace specifications, military specifications, industry specifications, and/or manufacturing instructions.Be able to read and interpret all print requirements including those developed using Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).Perform Airworthiness Representative functions including 8130 documentations.Review, control and maintenance of paperwork, documents, certs, and records.Be able to set up and operate CMM using established programs and interpret results.Be able to set up and operate Surfcom contour tracer for detailed dimensions.Perform First Article Inspection.Process DMR's.Achieve qualification as customer inspection delegate (DSQR).Manager source inspectorsAdditional DutiesProvide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Qualifications3+ years' experience in a quality inspection role within the machining industry, preferably in an aerospace environmentDemonstrated competency with metrology equipment.CMM operation (preferred)Computer Skills: Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, and Word), digital imaging, Adobe Acrobat.GD&T competencyMust submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.EducationHigh School graduate or equivalentAdditional quality training and/or ASQ certification preferred.In addition to competitive wages, NMG is proud to offer a retirement saving plan with company matching opportunity, excellent health and wellness benefits including a $350 annual wellness allowance for assistance with personal health and fitness goals, can earn up to 4 weeks paid time off, on the job training, education assistance and a variety of other supportive programs to meet our team's member's needs.
