In the role of Client Solutions Management and Support Team Manager within the Applied Technology Office, we will count on you to lead a team responsible for the administration, configuration, support, and lifecycle management of HDR's enterprise design and engineering applications. These platforms include Esri, Autodesk, Bentley, Newforma, and Trimble, along with additional specialized software supporting project delivery.
The team includes Application Managers, Application/System Administrators, and Support Analysts, and together they ensure reliable and consistent platform operations across client, server, and cloud environments.
In addition to team leadership responsibilities, this role also serves as the primary Application Manager for one or more products or portfolio. The Applications Manager partners closely with Portfolio Owner, key stakeholders and user communities to create a strong, well-supported platform foundation that enables healthy adoption and communication.
Team ManagementOversee the overall management and day-to-day operations of our Client Solutions support team which includes application managers, application administrators, and support analysts/specialists.
Coordinate team activities in alignment with Class A Portfolio/Product owners, Digital Platforms Director and Digital Design and Delivery Director.
Oversee coordination with product managers for Class B and C applications.
Application Portfolio/Product ManagerIn addition to being team manager, you would also be responsible for application management of a significant design or delivery platform or a suite of products critical to our business.
Coordinate release management lifecycle of assigned portfolio
Coordinate application integration issues between products/vendors Publish HDR application roadmaps Conduct product usage analysis
Conduct new application research, assessment of fit
Coordinate with vendor to assure entitlement accuracy
Coordinate business reviews with vendor & key stakeholders
Facilitate communication with OCTO teams / all HDR staff / external parties
Facilitate change management (not change control)
Occasionally work after-hours and weekends
Occasionally travel to meet with vendors and/or stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications5 years of experience managing applications
Proficiency in Application Portfolio Manager functions
Familiarity with IT Planning, Road mapping and Architecture practices
Familiarity with IT PM, agile and waterfall project delivery practices.
Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
Proficiency with Architecture/Engineering/Construction operations
PMI certification
Change Management certification
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field, or combination of education and relevant experience
A minimum of 10 years IT experience, including management of multiple concurrent projects, a minimum of 5 years experience in managing and developing staff, with direct reporting relationships
Experience in working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectations
Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of performing tasks in a dynamic environment many times working under tight delivery schedules
Engineering and/or Construction background a plus

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Minneapolis, MN: $95,844.00 - $136,920.00 Chicago, IL and Folsom, CA: $100,408.00 - $143,440.00
