Machine Operator

Overall Purpose: The Machine Operator will set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines, automatic and manual drill presses, vapor hone, and punch presses Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Set up and operate machines within the 2nd Operation area Perform First Article Inspections Inspect parts Complete daily paperwork Solve shop math related problems Make proper selection of cutting tools, speeds and feeds Properly complete dimensional inspection reports Properly operate various machines within the department Read blue prints Perform in-process inspection Follow safe work practices Clean work areas Follow both verbal and written instructions Crosstrain in other areas as needed Adhere to 5S Standards Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety Other Duties: Other duties based on the needs of the Machine Shop The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification.
