ICON Aircrafts facilities are in Northern California, 50 miles northeast of San Francisco./ppMission of Role: Apply hands-on composite repair and aircraft repair experience to support service and maintenance operations./ph3Location: Tampa, FL/h3pReports to: Manager, Service and Maintenance/ppPrimary Skills:/pulliPerform structural and cosmetic repairs on composite components using proper materials, layup techniques, and curing processes./liliInterpret engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical instructions to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently./liliConduct inspections to assess damage, determine appropriate repair methods in coordination with Engineering, and provide feedback or request additional information as needed./liliMaintain, troubleshoot, and modify composite tooling and related equipment as needed./liliExecute composite layups using prepreg or dry fabric; perform part preparation, demolding, and vacuum bagging in accordance with drawings and specifications./liliSupport continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean practices across all layup and bonding processes./liliCarry out composite surface prep including scarfing, sanding, deburring, and grinding; clean parts and tools using appropriate solvents (e.g., acetone) as outlined in work instructions./liliCollaborate with production, RD, and service teams to support cross-functional projects as needed./liliDocument repair work according to regulatory and company standards, including updating digital or paper logbooks./li/ulpSuccess Indicators:/pulliFollow instruction and drawings to produce quality assemblies/liliComposite Bonding team keeps pace with overall assembly, sales and service timelines/liliOn schedule to deliver service and sales plans/li/ulpRequirements:/ppPreferred Experience Education:/pulliAP or LSA-RM certified for 3-5 years of experience working with composites/hands-on composite bonding/liliStrong understanding of composite materials, bonding techniques, and repair procedures/liliFamiliarity with vacuum bagging, prepreg, wet layup, and curing methods/liliAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation/liliDirect experience within the automotive, light aircraft or recreation (i.e. power boats) industriesMechanical aptitude, competent in the use of hand tools/liliDemonstrated ability to work well with various departments, including engineering, production, quality and supply chain/liliExperience with the use of tools and fixtures for assembly of products/liliAbility to work independently while under limited supervision/liliFamiliarization with assembly of materials, including metals and carbon fiber composites/liliAttention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work/li/ulpIdeal Experience:/pulliNew product introduction experience/liliComposite manufacturing with carbon fiber pre-impregnated materials/liliHands-on manufacturing experience such as machining, welding and composite lay-up/li/ulpOther Traits:/pulliGoal driven, results focused with a strong bias for action and meeting deadlines/liliStrong attention to detail/liliSelf-motivated, positive thinker/liliTeam oriented with a priority on organizational goals, motivated by accomplishments rather than power/liliWorks in an organized manner/liliAbility to grasp issues in a dynamic environment to quickly achieve desired outcomes/liliHighly intelligent, confident, decisive, competitive, energetic, and passionate/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliMust be able to work standing for extended periods of time (6+ hours), work from ladders and stands, lift 40 pounds from floor to chest height, work while positioned on floor / floor creepers/liliMust be able to operate / hold tools for extended periods of time (2+ hours/li/ul/div
