Title - REACH After-School Program Educators (SY25-26)*This job has 4 positions availableDescription About Chelsea Public Schools:The Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) is a gateway school system that welcomes and educates allstudents and families. More information about CPS can be found on our website atwww.chelseaschools.com/cps.About Reach Program:REACH is a comprehensive, innovative out-of-school dropout prevention program designed tosupport educational pathways for Chelsea Public School (CPS) high school students. The programfocuses on college and career readiness, students' academic and career preparation, social andemotional learning, and provides mental health support.Group Leaders (GLs) are the heart of the REACH program. They are responsible for mentoring students and fostering connections among them. GLs also manage student attendance and participation, playing a critical role in providing the additional support that students need to thrive in the program.Location: Chelsea High School, 299 Everett Ave, Chelsea, MA.General Duties:Design and lead activities and projects to build group pride and identity;Assist tutors in supporting students with their homework responsibilities;Serve as role models that demonstrate and emphasize the high expectations of theprogram; attend weekly staff meetings to debrief the week's activities and plan for thecoming activities;Build relationships with families through weekly phone calls.Tracking student attendanceSupporting students academicallyCreating activities that will help students with project based and social-emotional learningEncourage students to participate in activitiesConnect with parentsQualifications:Experience working in education, youth development, and/or a youth-serving program;Relevant experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to engage high schoolyouth;Demonstrated experience with and commitment to education and community-basedlearning;Experience working with multicultural populations;Experience and comfort using computers and email;Passion and commitment to providing creative education-based after-school services tothe youth of Chelsea;Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups of people;Ability to provide/receive constructive feedback;Demonstrated time and project management skills in a fast-paced environment;Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and over the phone.Qualifications Required:Minimum education: two years college completion.
