Job Summary
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for keeping the maintenance operation organized, efficient, and proactive. The role centers on administering the Preventive Maintenance (PM) system, planning and scheduling daily maintenance work, and managing parts inventory and purchasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
Adheres and operates within the prescribed budget limits set forth for the Maintenance Manager.
Assure all critical and spare parts for equipment are readily available. Researches and requests repair parts as necessary.
Completes all necessary paperwork related to planned and unplanned work performed.
Conducts spot checks for PM completion
Ensure that all equipment failures are attended immediately by assigning the right person and demonstrating a high sense of urgency.
Ensure that all Preventative Maintenance Activities are efficiently and adequately performed and completed in a timely manner before due date.
Ensures proper planning and tracking of installation, maintenance, and repairs to machinery, equipment, physical structures and electrical systems in the manufacturing facility and offices.
Generates purchase orders and places orders for parts and services within authority limits.
Is punctual, on time, and adheres to company attendance policies. Regular Attendance is an essential job function.
Maintains and controls shop part inventory.
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
Meets and exceeds qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by management.
Performs job function in adherence to safety instructions and rules. Does not perform any job, duty, or function for which employee has not received training.
Schedules and coordinates work completed by maintenance mechanics and outside vendors
Understands and administers Preventive Maintenance system and its implementation. Reviews work logs, work orders, PM sheets.
Works closely with Maintenance Manager to track expenses and analyzes Maintenance Department Key Performance Indicators.
Works closely with the Operations, Process and Maintenance Manager and other departments in order to eliminate downtime and to improve operational efficiencies.
Works from manufacturer’s manuals and specifications to keep equipment and machinery in proper working condition.
