Sit Down Forklift Operator

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Sit Down Forklift Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and organize inventory within our distribution center. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-energy environment where precision and safety are paramount. *Duties* * Safely operate sit-down forklifts, * Conduct thorough pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality. * Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using barcode scanning systems and warehouse management systems (WMS). * Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety protocols and manual handling guidelines. * Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage. * Perform minor equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime. * Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by properly stacking pallets and materials in designated areas. * Follow all warehouse safety standards in production environments, including heavy lifting techniques and proper use of safety gear. * Support warehouse distribution activities by participating in cycle counts, inventory audits, and documentation updates. *Qualifications* * Proven experience operating various material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts. * Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, shipping & receiving procedures. * Knowledge of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols. * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle materials manually when required. * Basic math skills for inventory counting and order accuracy. * Prior experience with warehouse supervision or managing warehouse operations is a plus but not mandatory. * Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely in a fast-paced environment. * Valid forklift certification preferred; additional certifications such as reach truck or cherry picker operation are advantageous.
