Grayson County Schools has 7 different school campuses across the county. Fairview Elementary, Fries School (PreK-7), Independence Elementary, Grayson Highlands (PreK-7), Independence Middle, Grayson County High School and the GCHS Career and Technical Education Center are the schools where in total, over 1500 students are educated. Individuals who want to work with children and adolescent's are encouraged to apply.Job Summary: The Grayson County School Board is continually accepting applications for substitute teachers and aides. We have an immediate need for applicants who fluently speak Spanish.Following school board approval, a TB test/screening, background checks (with a cost of $37.00) are required prior to being added as an active substitute for the Grayson County School System.Qualifications: Applicants must be 20 years of age, have a high school diploma (or equivalent). Must have clear background with the Virginia State Police/FBI and the Department of Social Services, child protective services unit.Working Conditions: Substitute teachers and paraprofessionals work in the school, typically in a single classroom setting. Some positions require travel between classrooms. On occasion, substitutes may be required to escort a class outside for recess, to the library, gymnasium, cafeteria and/or auditorium.
