Buyer (G-Project)

Position SummaryThe Planner/Buyer is responsible for material planning, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure customer supply requirements and business goals are met. This role manages the material pipeline, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports production build and shipment schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain inventory strategies to support customer demandAnalyze and report weekly inventory metrics (turns, aging, E&O, accuracy)Convert Purchase Requisitions (PRs) into Purchase Orders (POs) and manage high-volume order placementExpedite orders, manage cancellations and reschedules, and coordinate with vendorsEnsure accurate system updates for material arrivals, pricing, and lead timesMonitor vendor performance and resolve invoice or freight discrepanciesMaintain compliance with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and quality processesCollaborate with Production Planning, Materials, and cross-functional teamsQualifications & ExperienceHigh School diploma, College degree, Associate certificate, Business degree preferred3-4+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or materials management preferredExperience in industrial or multi-component manufacturing environments preferredExperiences in commercial purchasing, supply chain management, logistics and inventory management are highly consideredUnderstanding of domestic and international trade terms (e.g. Incoterms)Experience working within a Quality Management System is a plusOperational familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred; Oracle, JD Edwards, AS400, etc.)Experience managing high-volume purchase orders preferredMath skills and analytical skills is a mustSkills & CompetenciesPrimaryStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Word and Excel (advanced Excel preferred)Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)Process-driven and detail-orientedAbility to work under uncertaintySelf-starter with strong follow-up skillsComfortable managing repetitive, high-volume tasksFlexible and adaptableAbility to oversee or support others' workHigh tolerance for routine/monotonous workflowsEnglish proficiency, other language skills e.g. Spanish or Chinese highly preferredBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insurancePaid holidaysPaid time off
