Responsible for leadership, strategy and direction related to seminars, workshops, public programming, cultural events and other outreach activities that showcase the richness and diversity of Arab civilization and acknowledge contributions Arab American have made to our society.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conceptualize and implement public programs in collaboration with other Arab American National Museum (AANM) and ACCESS departments that promote and further the mission of the AANM as well as expand the museum-s audience baseAssist with marketing and fundraising efforts including grant writing, and earned revenue related to, and public programmingDevelop, implement and track metrics to measure, interpret and analyze the effectiveness and outcomes of public programs and ensure alignment with strategic goalsDirect or conduct independent research related to museum programsCultivate and maintain relationships with the arts and entertainment community and cultural institutions to promote the activities of the departmentOversee the creation of productions including musical events, film screenings, festivals, panels and lecturesContact artists, musicians, singers, authors and other talent for public programming events as directedArrange for delivery and ensure signing of contracts for speakers and artistsWork with various ethnic communities and organizations to build an audience for the programsNetwork with other cultural institutions to promote and implement joint cultural activities and national tours of Arab and Arab American performers with the goal of creating a national Arab American Arts NetworkCoordinate travel arrangements and transportation needs for guest speakers and artistsAssist with performance night logistics including load-ins, load-outs and artist managementPlan, assign, monitor and manage the work of othersReview performance and evaluate results achieved by subordinatesCoach and mentor subordinatesInterpret, apply and recommend changes to organizational policies and proceduresReview progress of assignments with senior managementBalance conflicting resource and priority demandsCreate and operate within department budget and ensure compliance with financial guidelinesOperate standard office equipment and use required software applicationsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of:Advanced concepts, principles and practices of creating and delivering public programming and music content in an informative and entertaining manner for learners of all age levelsAdvanced concepts, principles and practices of Arab American culture, art and American studiesMusic and performing artsBudget management, including creating and maintaining a budgetArab/Middle Eastern culture and languages is preferredLocal, national and international media outletsLocal, national and international art organizations and cultural institutionsSkill in:Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to:Provide a high level of customer servicePartner with other functional areas to accomplish objectivesFacilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressedAttend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientationIncite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomesDevelop and deliver public presentationsInterpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriateOrganize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writingWork independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentEstablish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization as well as external constituents and business partnersEducational/Previous Experience Requirements:Minimum Degree Required:o Bachelor-s degree~and~At least 3 years of event production or entertainment management experience or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human ResourcesLicenses/Certifications:Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire: NoneWorking Conditions:Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be requiredTravel Required: Local travel, up to 15%Working Environment: Climate controlled officeSTART YOUR APPLICATION (https://apply.hrmdirect.com/resumedirect/ApplyOnline/Apply.aspx?req_id=3667193&source=3667193-CJB-0)
