Test Engineer

The Test Engineer is responsible for managing and executing all applicable environmental validation testing to support existing and new product development. In this role, the Test Engineer will be the single point of contact to coordinate activities including test setup, test execution and report generation as required by the engineering teams. This role works closely with peers in the global engineering organization as well as operations and project management.Essential FunctionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be familiar with test equipment such as DMM, AC/DC variableAbility to interpret standards to determine the required testing for a product to meet a specific standard (e.g., EN61326, UL913)Run test equipment for EMC/EMI testing which would include:RFI testingEMI testingBurst/Electrical Fast Transient (EFT)Electrostatic DischargeConducted ImmunityDesign, fabricate and implement test setups to meet testing requirementsProficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis with the ability to recommend changes and/or fixes.Develop, execute test plans and resulting reportsCoordinate testing with 3rd party labsvoltage sources, Hi-Pot, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Power Meter, Calipers, Micrometer, IR Temp Gun, Flow MetersPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with UL (508, 913, 353), CSA, FCC, CE (EN61326) standardsExperience with Laplace II test cellSoftware languages LabView, CEducation RequiredQUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTSAssociates degree in engineering or related technical fieldBachelor’s degree in engineering or related science is preferred2+ years of experience in Test engineering field Experience RequiredOTHER FUNCTIONSMay be assigned various projects and responsibilities at the discretion of the Engineering Manager.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
