About the Role As a Field Service Technician specializing in automated entry systems, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and safety of commercial pedestrian access points. You will leverage your technical expertise to diagnose complex mechanical issues, perform precision installations, and deliver high-quality service that keeps businesses moving securely. Responsibilities Execute the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of automatic pedestrian doors, low-energy systems, and associated glass and glazing components. Configure and integrate sophisticated access control hardware, including electronic locks, closers, and low-voltage circuitry. Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, such as faulty hinges, springs, or control boards, to restore operational efficiency. Ensure all completed work adheres strictly to local building codes and safety compliance standards. Provide professional consultations to clients, explaining technical solutions and offering cost-effective repair strategies. Maintain precise documentation of service history and project outcomes to ensure long-term equipment reliability. Conduct rigorous quality assurance testing on all repairs and new installations to guarantee peak performance. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of hands-on experience in the commercial door service industry. Advanced proficiency with hand and power tools for precise mechanical installations. Strong mathematical aptitude, specifically with fractions and accurate tape measure usage. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and motor vehicle screenings. Preferred Skills Current AAADM certification. Experience with aluminum commercial storefront systems. Prior training or interest in welding and fabrication techniques. Proven track record of managing complex field service calls independently.
