Our work culture at DataBank does not discriminate based on actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, sex, marital status, veterans' status, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.The Colocation Engineer will be responsible for engineering functions in support of customer acquisition and installation cabinets, cages, power, backbone communication cables & panels, etc.ResponsibilitiesSupport sales and product teams with technical solutions and RFP responsesPreliminary design, presentation and evaluation of customer solutionsManage and respond to pre-sales (ICB) requests, including preliminary drawingsWork with Operations and Capacity teams to determine sellable space and power at colocation sitesManufacturer selection to solution equipment that meets customer specifications and DataBank standardsCreate colocation layout drawings and all supporting infrastructure using AutoCADCreate full Scope Of Work packages for signed ordersMaintain current 'as built' drawings of all sites in assigned regionUpdate redlined drawings and information received from Proj Mgrs & Operations to keep records of completed work currentOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree in engineering field preferredColocation / Datacenter design experience requiredWorking knowledge of Datacenter infrastructure - Power, Cooling, Security, CommunicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively respond, verbally or in writing, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaintsMust be detail orientedWorks well independently and on a teamRequires a high level of commitment to customer service, whether co-workers or clientsExpert application software skills including MS Word, MS Excel, AutoCAD, Visio, and Adobe AcrobatFlexible and adapts well to a constantly changing environmentMust be able to manage multiple aggressive deadlinesMust be able to understand and read construction documentsBusiness minded and able to maintain a commercial focusTravel is a requirement - must have current US driver's license and passport.The employee will be required to meet with customers and internal support teams occasionally to review project scope, participate in site tours and to ensure positive communication is maintainedBenefitsHealth, Vision and Dental Insurance PackagesShort-Term and Long-Term Disability?InsuranceLife Insurance401k with company matchPaid Time Off and Paid Holidays#J-18808-Ljbffr
