Peer tutors work on an individual basis or in a small group sessions to answer questions on course content and to provide study strategies as a supplement to instruction.SALARY: $15.00 per hour, not to exceed 19 hours per week.Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur. Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Student Services. Tutorial Supports the TRIO Program by assisting participants in their academic studies.Provide individualized content and skill-development tutoring to assigned students.Facilitate learning as a guide and coach to assist the student to become a successful, independent learner.Works directly with project participants to provide academic assistance.Coordinates tutorial schedules.Relates pertinent information to TRiO staff to fill gaps in assessing academic progress.Assists with planning and implementing workshops and other program activities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Reporting. Assess participants' academic performance.Inputs data in the TRiOdatabase including data relating to participation, contacts, grades, workshops, etc. for reporting purposes to U.S. Department of Education.Consults with TRiO staff regarding progress of project participants.Operates computer, using specialized software and various office equipment.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: College Expectations.
