Job Description Privacy & Data Security Associate (2–4 Years) – Sacramento, San Francisco, or Silicon ValleyDirect Counsel is representing a nationally recognized law firm seeking a Privacy & Data Security Associate to join its Privacy and Data Security practice in Sacramento, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley. This position offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance matters in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesCounsel clients on privacy and data security compliance, governance, and regulatory obligationsAdvise on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and cybersecurity lawsAssist with privacy considerations in transactions, product development, and technology initiativesSupport incident response, investigations, and privacy-related disputes when necessaryHelp design and implement proactive privacy and data protection programs for clientsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials2–4 years of privacy and data security experience in a law firm or in-house environmentExperience advising on regulatory compliance and privacy governance mattersStrong research, analytical, drafting, and communication skillsFamiliarity with emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, advertising/marketing, or product development is a plusActive bar membership in the jurisdiction where the candidate will practiceCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $235,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.The firm offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, retirement plans including 401(k), paid time off, and additional wellness and professional development benefits.This is an excellent opportunity to work with sophisticated clients on cutting-edge privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology issues within a collaborative and nationally recognized practice.
