Custom Container Designer - Spring Annuals

Custom Container Designer (Spring Seasonal) Do you see planters as living art? Do you get excited about color palettes, textures, and how plants play together in sun and shade? Do you love asking just the right questions to turn a guest's vague idea into something beautiful and successful? If so, we want you on our Custom Planting Team. We're hiring Custom Container Designers for the spring season to create one-of-a-kind planters using spring annuals. This role runs from April through early July, with opportunities to return for our fall festival starting in September. What You'll Be Creating: Our guests bring us empty pots (or purchase them from us), and you bring them to life. Each container is custom designed based on: Sun exposure (full sun, part shade, shade - you speak this language) Where the container will live (front porch, patio, pool deck, balcony) Color preferences, vibe, and personal style How the guest will care for it once it leaves our garden center What You'll Do: Design custom containers that are both beautiful and practical Ask thoughtful questions to guide guests toward designs that will thrive Select plant combinations that look amazing and grow well together Plant custom containers exactly as designed Create and maintain grab and go planters (watering, pruning, refreshing) Help guests throughout the Garden Center Assist with planting workshops and classes You Might Be a Great Fit If You: Have a strong eye for color, texture, and balance Understand how annual plants behave in different light conditions Enjoy collaborating with guests and making creative recommendations Have floral design, visual merchandising, or hands-on design experience Love working with plants and getting your hands dirty Can lift up to 30 pounds and are comfortable being on your feet Are available & interested in working weekdays & weekends Bring positive energy and enjoy working as part of a creative team This Role Is Probably Not for You If: You're looking for repetitive planting or production-only work You don't enjoy talking with guests or guiding design decisions You prefer strict formulas over creative freedom Why You'll Love It Here: Every day is different.
