IT Support Engineer

You can read more about us in this letter from our founders.Why This Role MattersWe are seeking a customer-focused IT Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support at our San Leandro facility and assist at other Bay Area locations as needed. This role is responsible for delivering timely end-user support, managing user accounts and devices, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and helping maintain secure and reliable IT operations.In addition to providing direct support, this position serves as an escalation point for more complex technical issues and plays an important role in supporting engineering workstations, endpoint management, and overall IT service reliability. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and able to work independently while maintaining a consistent, approachable, and positive attitude when supporting employees.This position plays an important role in ensuring staff have reliable access to the technology and systems they need to perform their work effectively.This is a fully onsite position based at our San Leandro facility, with some local and infrequent out-of-state travel as needed.What You'll DoEnd-User SupportProvide onsite and desk-side technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issuesRespond to service desk tickets, troubleshoot issues, and resolve or elevate as appropriateServe as an escalation point for more complex or unresolved technical issuesSupport Windows and macOS systems, including laptops, desktops, engineering workstations, mobile devices, and printersDeliver professional, responsive, and customer-focused supportMaintain a consistent, approachable, and positive attitude when assisting usersProvide support for conference room systems and collaboration technologyIdentity & Access ManagementCreate, modify, and disable user accounts in Microsoft Entra IDManage user access, group memberships, and permissionsTroubleshoot authentication and access-related issuesSupport onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely and secure provisioning and deprovisioningPrepare, configure, deploy, and support end-user computers and equipmentUtilize endpoint management tools such as Microsoft IntuneTroubleshoot device configuration and management issuesPerform system updates, patching, and routine maintenanceEnsure endpoints meet company security and compliance standardsAssist with deployment and support of workstation-class systemsHardware Support & Asset ManagementTroubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate vendor support or warranty service as neededSupport high-performance workstations and specialized equipment as requiredMaintain accurate inventory and asset management recordsTrack hardware lifecycle from procurement through decommissioningSaaS & Application SupportProvide user administration and support for SaaS and cloud-based applicationsAssist with troubleshooting and resolving application access or functionality issuesSupport standard business and productivity platforms, including Microsoft 365Assist with installation, configuration, and support of approved software applicationsDocument IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge base articlesMaintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and system configurationsContribute to process improvements and operational efficiencyAssist in identifying and resolving recurring technical issuesProvide guidance and support to junior IT staff as neededWhat You BringAssociate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience3+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop supportExperience with computer preparation and deployment processesStrong working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systemsExperience with Microsoft Entra ID or similar identity management platformsExperience with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft IntuneStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsResourceful and able to work independentlyAbility to maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented demeanorAbility and willingness to travel locally and occasionally out of stateAbility to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbsBonus Points ForExperience supporting engineering or technical teamsExperience supporting workstation-class hardwareExperience supporting Linux systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar)Experience supporting SaaS and cloud-based applicationsExperience with asset management systemsCompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certificationPay Range:$110,000 - $130,000 USDTotal Compensation & Benefits for Eligible EmployeesEquity plan6% employer 401k matchingGenerous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)Medical, Dental, and Vision insurancePacific Fusion is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
