Senior Lending Assistant

About The RoleThe Senior Lending Assistant will report directly to the Market President and provide support, coaching, and leadership to operational lending assistants while maintaining a range of secretarial and clerical duties. During the Market President’s absence, the Senior Lending Assistant will maintain other duties relating to the loan function of the Bank and/or department in regards to keeping the business going. The job functions are:Job DutiesRepresent the Bank in a courteous and professional mannerProvide support and coaching to other operational lending assistants and employees within the department and/or locationDirectly service the department and/or location including, exercising independent judgement and discretion when making decisions for the betterment of the department and/or location and/or customer during the Market President’s absenceTake loan applications, obtain credit reports and process credit denials according to regulationsType memos, letters, and reportsGreet customers and assist them with routine problemsAccept loan payments and depositsHandle incoming telephone calls and mailObtain the necessary documents and legal papers for loansCall and write letters to past due customersProduce loan documents and renewal loans in an accurate and timely mannerResponsible for servicing loans, ie, payments, payoff quotes, and forwards to lenders and/or clientsMaintain knowledge of banking products and services in order to cross-sell to customersImage documents into electronic filing systemWork exception reportsIdentify and correct location and/or department procedural inefficienciesSet up meetings, conference, and conference callsCoordinate calendar/travel arrangementsProactively monitor schedules to identify and resolve conflicts and inefficienciesMaintain and approve timesheets, and/or leave requests for the department and/or locationComply with all federal, state, and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and proceduresComplete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assignedPerform any additional duties and tasks assigned by managementAbout YouQualifications & Skills: Displays passion, commitment, and drive to deliver an experience that improves our customer’s financial lives Superior time management and organizational skillsAbility to learn new technology, adapt to change, demonstrate initiative and a commitment to continuous learningDemonstrate professionalism in speech, demeanor, and dressBe a team player/leaderHandle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentialityExpert knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Education, Experience & LicensesHigh School diploma or equivalent- associates degree or higher preferred Minimum 2 years customer service experienceMinimum 3 years loan administrative experience in commercial, real estate and consumer loansMinimum 2 years management experience- preferred not requiredWork Location: Guaranty Bank and Trust in Mt Pleasant, TX.
