Director of Pricing and Contracting
Job SummaryThe Director, Pricing & Contracting will lead the development and execution of U.S. pricing, contracting, and gross-to-net (GTN) strategies across a portfolio of rare oncology and neurology therapies. This role serves as a strategic partner to Finance, Commercial, and Legal teams to optimize market access, ensure compliance with government pricing requirements, and support long-term financial performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pharmaceutical pricing and contracting, strong analytical capabilities, and proven leadership experience in a fast-paced biotech or pharmaceutical environment.ResponsibilitiesLead U.S. pricing strategy development for pipeline and in-line products, aligning pricing with clinical value, market dynamics, and access objectives.Design and evaluate commercial and government contracting strategies, including scenario modeling and pre-deal financial analytics.Provide strategic guidance to pricing governance committees through data-driven pricing and forecasting assumptions.Monitor evolving federal and state pricing policies, including price transparency and regulatory reporting requirements.Oversee GTN forecasting, waterfall analysis, and quarterly/annual financial submissions.Partner with Finance to integrate pricing assumptions, discount trends, and channel dynamics into long-range planning.Identify financial risks and opportunities through variance analysis and trend monitoring.Direct contract administration processes, ensuring accurate system integration and operational execution.Ensure compliance with all government pricing calculations, reporting obligations, and regulatory requirements.Develop and monitor KPIs to measure contract effectiveness, access impact, and financial return.Lead and mentor cross-functional teams while providing hands-on support when needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced financial degree preferred.12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including 5–7+ years in Pricing, Contracting, or Market Access Finance.Deep expertise in GTN accounting, government pricing regulations, and U.S. payer landscape.Strong knowledge of commercial, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid contracting frameworks.Experience in oncology, neurology, or rare disease therapeutics strongly preferred.Excellent analytical, financial modeling, communication, and strategic planning skills.Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with approximately 20% travel to the Boston-area headquarters.
