Security Guard

Position Summary: The Security Guard role oversees and monitors the safety and security of the campus, company security practices, and provides customer service to the company as directed. Major Responsibilities: u2022 Monitor safety and security of the campus by: - Performing routine patrols of buildings and campus grounds - Monitor to deter unauthorized entries of buildings - Performing patrols to provide protection against fires and/or other dangerous situations - Deterring criminal activity, and respond to other irregular activities u2022 Perform a customer service function by answering inquiries and providing direction to visitors, contractors and associates.. u2022 Exercise control of access to entrance and secure areas by using admitting procedures. u2022 Represent Penske in a highly professional manner. Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with associates,, clients and vendors. u2022 Perform campus administrative duties, which include responding to safety and security concerns and completing safety inspections, daily/weekly/monthly reporting and safety/security audits. u2022 Other duties as assigned Qualifications: u2022 High School diploma or equivalent required u2022 Bachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required u2022 1 year of experience in a law enforcement, military, or security role required u2022 Must be able to respond immediately to all emergency situations and maintain control of the environment u2022 Ability to use post equipment, alarms, logs and other devices required u2022 Must be able to utilize the surveillance cameras, monitoring systems, and analyze access logs u2022 Ability to utilize the Visitor Management System, computers and online tools required u2022 Strong skills in customer service when dealing with internal and external people required u2022 Excellent oral and written communication skills required u2022 Must have strong conflict resolution/problem solving skills u2022 Must act strictly within established procedures and refer questionable matters to a supervisor u2022 Must provide a positive and professional image u2022 Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job u2022 Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
