Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to support healthcare technology and integration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, hands-on experience with healthcare systems, and the ability to work across clinical applications, medical devices, and enterprise platforms.
This role involves technical design, implementation, troubleshooting, code reviews, and collaboration with internal engineering teams and external technology partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and support integrations between healthcare systems, clinical applications, and enterprise platforms.
- Work with Epic, HL7, and FHIR APIs to enable healthcare data exchange and interoperability.
- Support the integration of medical devices and clinical hardware with enterprise software applications.
- Review code, evaluate technical designs, and provide implementation guidance.
- Troubleshoot complex software, application, and integration issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, healthcare stakeholders, and external technology vendors.
- Coordinate integrations involving third-party and SaaS platforms.
- Identify technical challenges, resolve blockers, and drive implementation activities forward.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and solution planning.
- Support secure and reliable integration practices within enterprise healthcare environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in software engineering and enterprise application integration.
- Hands-on experience with healthcare integration standards, including HL7 and FHIR.
- Experience working with Epic and related healthcare systems.
- Experience integrating medical devices or clinical hardware with enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of APIs, system architecture, and application interoperability.
- Ability to review code, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and guide implementation.
- Experience working with SaaS platforms, third-party vendors, or external technology partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage technical challenges in complex env
Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chicago, IL 60617
