Temporary Nutrition Program Research AssistantOverviewThe Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences at NC State University is seeking a part-time Nutrition Program Research Assistant to support the delivery and evaluation of two nutrition programs: the Health Extension for Diabetes (HED) program and the PhytoRx Families produce prescription program. The position calls for research, data collection, program delivery, analysis, manuscript writing, presentations, and communications across project participants and stakeholders. The assistant will also assist with compensated travel to eastern North Carolina to interface with county-based NC State Extension Family and Consumer Science agents and other community partners.ResponsibilitiesRecruit participants and collect objective health data (A1C, blood pressure, Veggie Meter scans, CIR breath samples, height, and weight).Assist with program delivery, data analysis, manuscript writing, and presentations.Support the Project Coordinator with communications among project participants and stakeholders.Travel to eastern North Carolina to interface with NC State Extension agents and community-based professionals.Work 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling and occasional evenings.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in nutrition, public health, health behavior, or a related field.Experience conducting nutrition/health behavior research and collecting objective health data.Organized, dependable, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsAt least 2 years of experience conducting nutrition/health behavior research and collecting nutrition and health data.BenefitsCompensated travel to eastern North Carolina.Wolfpack Perks including childcare discounts, wellness & recreation membership, and wellness programs.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementNC State University is an equal opportunity employer.
