Controller

*Job Summary* We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our trucking company. The Controller will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of transportation industry finances, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead financial strategies that support the company's growth and stability. *Responsibilities* * Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. * Prepare and analyze financial statements to provide insights into company performance. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to transportation and finance. * Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. * Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. * Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies that support operational goals. * Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to optimize liquidity. * Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors during financial reviews. * Preparing balance sheets, income statements and other financial documents * Leading internal and external audit * Managing and hiring for the accounting department *Skills* * Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting/financial management role within the trucking or transportation industry. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations applicable to transportation companies. * Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. * Leadership abilities with experience managing finance teams. * Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems relevant to logistics or transportation businesses. * Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial information clearly. * Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
