3rd Shift Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic

DescriptionThe Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance, including predictive & preventative maintenance procedures of all systems at this facility. They install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and process systems including HVAC and electrical systems throughout the facility.Key Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsAmmonia Refrigeration:Help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Ammonia Refrigeration System at this facility.Complete data recording and logs of the Ammonia Refrigeration System on a per shift basis.Complete daily tasks and daily routines associated with the Ammonia System, as required.Electrical & Controls:Have a working knowledge of PLCs.Must be able to read and interpret ladder logic and electrical prints.Can troubleshoot and repair hardware portions of all electrical systems in the facility.Must have experience working with High and Low Voltage electrical systems (up to 480VAC).Preventative & Predictive:Execute predictive and preventative maintenance procedures throughout the facility.Read work orders to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.Must ensure timely completion of all PM's.Lubricate machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specified procedures.Repairs & Installation:Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.Install and replace machine parts according to Machine Specifications.Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, lathe, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.Safety & Emergency:Must use prescribed protective safety equipment (PPE) and perform all work in a safe manner.Must be an Emergency Response Team member.Teamwork & Communication:Must be a Team Player and effectively communicate between Maintenance and Operators any issues that may need to be addressed.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a positive manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.Must be able to collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, and/or hoists.Inventory & Support:Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, dollies, and/or forklifts.Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.Assist with building & grounds maintenance as needed (snow removal, etc.).Other duties as assigned.Professional Skills and Abilities:Critical Thinking: Apply logic and systems analysis to solve problems and evaluate performance.Communication: Strong verbal/written skills, active listening, and the ability to instruct or persuade others.Systems & Data: Proficient in database management, reporting, and navigating digital workflows.Resource Management: Proven ability to manage time, materials, and equipment effectively.Collaboration: Service-oriented mindset with strengths in negotiation and team development.Technical Skills:Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems as needed.Quality Control Analysis - Assist as necessary with conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Researching and identifying parts in parts catalogs and/or online.Technology Design - Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.Troubleshooting - Determining causes or operating errors and deciding next steps.Work Context:Requires standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and working at heights. Requires using hands to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls. Requires repetitive movement. Requires bending and twisting. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. Includes exposure to contaminants. Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions. Requires exposure to hazardous equipment. Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, and stings. Requires being exact and highly accurate. Requires wearing common protective safety equipment.Work Schedule:Designated 3rd shift Monday through Friday with additional hours as needed. Required to work dayshift during two production shutdowns (two weeks in July & one week in December). On-call evenings, nights, and weekends for emergency situations.Position will be posted both internal and external and will remain open until filled.
