Young Black Femmes in San Francisco (YBF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization creating intentional spaces rooted in connection, healing, joy, and community for Black femmes in the Bay Area.As we continue building our organizational infrastructure and expanding our programming across San Francisco, we are currently seeking volunteer board members to join our growing leadership team.At this time, we are especially looking for individuals interested in serving in Treasurer and Secretary leadership roles, along with engaged at large board members who want to actively contribute to the organization's growth and direction.Current Areas of NeedTreasurerSupport financial oversight and accountabilityReview budgets, expenses, and organizational spendingAssist with maintaining accurate financial recordsSupport fundraising and sustainability planningSecretarySupport board communication and coordinationRecord and organize meeting notes and key decisionsHelp maintain organizational records and documentsAssist with tracking organizational action items and deadlinesAt Large Board MembersParticipate in organizational planning and decision makingContribute ideas, feedback, and community insightSupport events, outreach, partnerships, and long term growth initiativesServe as thoughtful and engaged advocates for the organizationIdeal QualitiesWe are looking for individuals who are:Organized and dependableCollaborative and communicativeThoughtful, engaged, and community orientedInterested in nonprofit leadership and community buildingExcited to help shape a growing organization in an intentional and grounded wayPrevious nonprofit or board experience is welcomed but not required.CommitmentVolunteer leadership positionApproximately 10 hours per monthQuarterly board meetings plus planning meetingsHybrid/remote with some in-person requirementsAdditional InformationYBF is currently in an exciting stage of growth as we continue developing community programming, partnerships, and long term organizational sustainability.We are especially interested in building a board that brings a range of perspectives, skills, experiences, and lived realities into the room.To express interest, please apply through LinkedIn
