They train new hires throughout the departments and coordinate material deliveries from stores to ensure they match bill of materials (BOM). They assist staff on the most complex PHE frames and tube bundles and monitor output and progression of complex jobs for both PHE and S&T areas. They schedule people, machinery, and sub-assemblies to ensure continuous throughput and high labor efficiencies and prioritize special parts, instructing operators on how to build them. The Team Leader, Heat Exchanger updates the supervisor on output from the production lines and reviews data in daily production meetings, as well as interacts with buying/planning staff to minimize disruptions.Measures of success:Achieve the key performance indicator (KPI) of on-time deliveriesEnsure that earned labor hours align with expected targetsTimely/successful training and evaluation of a variety of employeesEnsures subassemblies do not run outResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Prioritizes schedules to ensure maximum outputCoordinates manufacturing of subassemblies to produce volume needed to minimize work interruptionsReviews schedules with supervisor and production staffProvides feedback to Engineering and Production Planning on BOM discrepancies and material shortagesCoordinates welding of subcomponents for the PHE, assembles the most complex PHE frames with assistance of other assemblers, and organizes the painting of PHE framesAssists employees with setups of bending equipment and building of most complex tube bundlesCoordinate hydro-testing of both PHE and S&T heat exchangers and load largest heat exchangers onto trucks utilizing overhead cranes.Trains employees in the assembly of PHE and S&T heat exchangersCoordinates with welding departments on the completion of large welding componentsDetermines the safest material handling options for large heat exchangers weighing up to 5 tons and performs critical riggingReviews Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) jobs for completionCoaches employees on how to utilize the ERP systemCoordinates with other shifts to ensure proper material flowAssigns and directs work based on needs of the shiftInstructs and trains inexperienced operatorsCoordinates all first shift manufacturing activities in the heat exchanger departments in absence of supervisor.Performs other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent7+ years of experience in a heavy assembly industrial environmentAbility to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word)Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a heavy manufacturing environmentCapability to mentor and train others and to share knowledgeFamiliar with rigging and material handling of large industrial equipment and components up to 5 tonsAbility to read and interpret welding proceduresAbility to interpret engineering documentationAble to keep team members well informed and to draw on other's expertise when requiredAbility to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with othersAbility to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumesJudgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods, and practicesAttention to detail and ability to handle multiple prioritiesWillingness to learn and to train othersPreferred:Up to 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade, technical school or college. Work EnvironmentThis position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent.
