Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and document patient's vital signs and medical information accurately
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Assist in the development of discharge plans for patients
Skills:
- Proficient in pain management techniques and interventions
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to effectively communicate with doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Experience in medication administration, including dosage calculations and intravenous therapy
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to provide specialized care for pediatric patients in the CVICU setting
- Strong understanding of discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions for patients
- Expertise in acute pain management strategies for post-operative and critically ill patients
- Health coaching skills to promote patient education and self-management of chronic conditions
- Experience working in an intensive care unit (ICU) environment, preferably in a cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
This position requires a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a critical care setting, preferably in a CVICU. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
