Job Title: IT Platform Engineer -AIX/LinuxLocation: RemoteDuration: 12 monthsJob Description:Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. Includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. Monitors the performance of systems. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.8+ years of hands-on experience in AIX and RHEL/SUSE Linux administrationStrong expertise in IBM Power Systems (Power7–Power11), HMC, GPFS clusters, WPARs, and VIOS virtualization, including enterprise virtual environments (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V)Proven experience managing AIX lifecycle: NIM, OS upgrades, patching, security eFixes, firmware/microcode updatesSolid experience with storage & networking (NPIV, SEA, EtherChannel, RAID, SAN, storage migrations)Strong background in OS hardening, EDR Tools, AIX Trust Execution, security compliance, backup, and disaster recoveryAdvanced troubleshooting and performance tuning across OS, network, and storage in 24x7 production environmentsLinux administration including OS upgrades, patching, Red Hat Satellite, yum/dnf, and automation using AnsibleStrong scripting skills (ksh/bash/Python) for automation and operational efficiencyExperience with ITIL processes, enterprise monitoring tools, JIRA, and supporting Db2/Oracle infrastructureExcellent communication skills and ability to operate in mission-critical environments8+ years in Linux administration with strong experience in RHEL/SUSE.Hands-on experience with Ansible, Satellite, virtualization platforms, storage, DNS/DHCP, monitoring, and backups.Scripting skills (Bash, Python) and familiarity with databases and EDR tools.
